Emily Mckay, Founder & Project Manager
Emily has always been inspired to help others, and is a firm believer that education is the most important solution to every problem we face in society. After creating a teaching module on homelessness as a service learning project in the final year of her Bachelors of Business Administration, she teamed up with Enactus OC to further the project. With the help of Mackenna, Rachel, and Kyleen, Rising was born. Emily dreams of a world where having difficult conversations about our world’s prevalent issues are celebrated in all levels of education. Emily is incredibly excited to create future modules on topics such as sustainability in the fashion industry, period poverty, privilege and more.
“Someone once told me that I am unapologetically hopeful. I think I’m able to be this way because I trust our future in the hands of young people. I hope through the Rising Modules, we can help inspire even a handful of future change-makers.”

Mackenna Lenarcic, Enactus Co-Project Manager
MacKenna Lenarcic is a second-year student in the Bachelor of Business Administration Program at Okanagan College pursuing a major in marketing. She joined Enactus Okanagan College to support social change initiatives to better the Okanagan community. MacKenna is inspired by helping others and is excited to create an enterprise dedicated to educating today’s youth on prevalent issues the world faces.
“Education in a non-partisan form is an amazing way for children to adopt the proper knowledge needed to form their own opinions and initiate change themselves. I have learned an immense amount myself on the issue surrounding homelessness while administering our first module. This is education I missed out on previously, so I am excited for the youth to have an opportunity to learn now!”

Rachel Cramen, Enactus Co-Project Manager
Rachel is currently a fourth-year student at Okanagan College pursuing her BBA with a major in finance. In addition to school, Rachel works at BMO and volunteers with both Enactus OC and Gennext Kelowna. Rachel is thrilled to be the Enactus Co-Project Manager for this amazing new project! She can't wait to see the positive impact it has on the Kelowna community and elsewhere.
“I am so excited to be working with an amazing group of people educating youth on the world's most prevalent issues. Homelessness specifically is a large concern in our community and I can't wait to educate the youth about this.''
